J Emily Peabody
Writer and performer
After graduation from the U of M with a theatre degree, Emily acted in twin cities community theater. She did several seasons of Shakespeare in the Park, a few shows at Theatre in the Round, juicy roles with Corcoran Park Players (Renamed Classics: Lost and Found) and one Season of Summer Stock at L'Homme Dieu and St Croix Festival. After landing a job with the Minneapolis Public Library, she embarked enthusiastically into the world of ushering theater and enjoying the works of others. Last Fall while looking for a story to accompany a 1915 musical number, she wanted to sing in a revue, Emily discovered a woman named Jeannette Rankin and decided it was time to write a fringe show about this incredible icon.
