More Information

Balanced between the US and Turkey, two places that are currently full of collective surges of anger, political violence, and flaring cultural controversy about the roles and rules of womanhood, Istanboom follows one young woman’s experiences as she navigates life between time in Minnesota and trips home to Istanbul. Devised by Derin Arduman and Ethan Ramsay, Istanboom is a one-woman show about different types of explosions, which employs physical theater and storytelling to explore themes of womanhood, political resistance, and survival.
